My grandson, Aidan, was having trouble with his second grade spelling words this week, so we made up a game to help him study.
Using his spelling words, I created a memory game using tables in a Word doc. After I typed his words (twice), he cut them out and laid them on the kitchen table. We proceeded to play Spelling Word Memory. Since he was having difficulty identifying the words by site, I asked him to say the word after he turned it over and if he had a match, he had to spell the word correctly to keep the match.
When it was my turn and I had a match, he was asked to spell it and if he spelled it correctly he could take the match from me.
We have a good bit of fun and he became much more confident as you will see at the end of the video.
