Thanksgiving is behind us ... family & friends ... food, food, and more food. Getting ready for company ... cleaning, organizing, then socializing, hugs in a crowded kitchen (why is the kitchen the go to place anyway?) and even more hugs! I feel like our society has lost physical contact opting for fist bumps and video chats. OK, so we have a pandemic and some precautions are necessary. I know too many who have left us too early due to COVID but we all have choices when our health is concerned and whether you are vaccinated or not, it's your choice.

Choices come at a price and nothing is 100%. This post is not about whether or not you should or shouldn't get vaccinated, but more about how to keep yourself protected from getting sick at all.

That being said my little town of Ozark, Alabama has a treasure in its midst. I awakened this morning feeling wonderful after preparing dinner for thirteen. My husband and I have enjoyed good health since before the pandemic and I can confidently credit many of the products at The Herbal Toad. What's even better is the owner, Stephanie, who is a wealth of knowledge and will talk with anyone about how to enjoy good health using essential oils, tinctures, and teas.

This morning
I relaxed with my Bulletproof coffee and opened my email on my phone. One of the first emails was from The Herbal Toad. I love this post so much, I wanted to share it.

With so many of us wearing masks and staying indoors more, our immune systems are becoming compromised, which is exactly the opposite of what we are trying to accomplish during a pandemic. To help counteract that negative effect, I want to offer you some science based tips that will help you boost your immune system.

To help keep your Immune System in top shape, essential oils are a good choice. Hundreds of scientific studies have demonstrated the antiviral actions of essential oils. Using anti-viral and anti-bacterial oils can support your overall health and boost your immune system.

One of the best things about essential oils used therapeutically is the ease with which they get into our cells and our bloodstream. Because of their lipophillic (‘fat friendly’) nature, essential oils pass through cell membranes, and make their way throughout our bodies when inhaled or used topically. When inhaled, diffused essential oils penetrate the cells of your respiratory system – in the nose, sinuses, throat, bronchial tubes and lungs.

My journey with food has been just that ... a journey. Until recently, I struggled with binge eating though not to any extremes short of annoying myself, but as I approached my seventies I realized my belly was telling me something. I was diagnosed with IBS years ago but when I removed some stresses from my life it went away. Stress is not my friend. Learning to manage it - or in some cases removing it - has made the biggest difference.

My website/blog is all about me and my journey - it's not always consistent as I do what I do when I want to do it, but you should find something to help you in your journey.

There are hundreds of websites and blogs out there to help you find your path to good health and fitness.
